New Work 2007
When you live by the sea it's impossible to ignore it. Tough livelihoods help provide for you; visitors flock to it, changing the coastal towns from winter quiet to summer bustle; the weather subtly alters views. No two days are the same.
Nothing within reach of the sea's influence remains unchanged. We do our best to tame and harness it, but it works to its own rules - an alien environment for land-dwellers. Impervious to our wishes and needs, where the land and sea meet the conflict is fiercest.
Most of my work during 2004 and 2005 has been based on coastal themes, and it is these works which will be included in a series of exhibtions commencing in September 2005 (see News for further details).
